Becky has been working in the mental health field as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2008. After graduating from Elon University with a degree in psychology, she earned her master’s degree in social work from UNC Chapel Hill. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including a domestic violence shelter, a residential program for adolescent girls, outpatient therapy practices, and a psychiatric hospital. Her passion is helping children, adolescents, and adults find peace, direction, and hope. She is solution-focused in her approach and employ Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy practices. She is also a rostered clinician in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She incorporates play, art, and music into her work to help clients express themselves, and values the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. She strives to understand each clients’ needs and preferences so that we can work together to gain insight, accomplish goals, and restore balance. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband and their two silly cats. She also loves finding new ways to help others and learning more about the interaction between nutrition, exercise, and mental health. Taking the step to reach out for help can be scary and change can be difficult. It is her hope that she will be able to support you through the process of finding your path.
