Julia Krebs is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who received a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University. She is also a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in the state of NY. Julia has extensive experience with individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Julia also has experience working with the adolescent and adult populations, particularly with those with diagnoses of anxiety and depression. Her previous clinical experience working on adult inpatient psychiatric units has provided her the skillset to treat a variety of mental health diagnoses with compassion, support, and empathy. She has been clinically trained in the development and practice of group therapy, along with structural family therapy. Julia is trained in psychodynamic therapy which focuses on developing insight and awareness into the mind, personality, and individual psyche. Julia employs an integrative therapeutic approach which utilizes various modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing(MI). Her therapeutic style is strengths based and involves developing the skills necessary to cope with the constantly changing aspects of life.
