Nicole Derrico was born and raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY. She received her Master of Social Work degree in 2008 from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina since 2016. Nicole utilizes a Client-Centered approach with various specialized therapy models to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Client Centered and Directive Play Therapy. She specializes in working with children from young toddlers through teens and has experience working with adults and families as well. Much of Nicole’s career in recent years has focused on providing support to military members, their families and children through work with the Army Community Services’ New Parent Support Program, as a Child and Youth Military and Family Life Counselor in various elementary schools and as an outpatient mental health therapist working closely with military members and their families. She believes that a supportive and collaborative approach to therapy yields the best results and is committed to helping individuals and families live their best possible lives.
