Shannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Western New England University and a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marist College.
Shannon especially enjoys working with children, adults and families. Using an eclectic approach, which combines Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Reality Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Counseling, Shannon adapts the theoretical styles to meet the diverse needs of clients. Shannon also believes it is important to meet the client where they are at and treating the whole person. She has worked with individuals on issues such as family issues, divorce, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, woman’s issues, anger management, parenting skills, behavioral related concerns and building social skills. Shannon believes that together she and her clients will explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. They will work on identifying and developing strengths, overcoming challenges and obstacles, and setting goals and taking the steps to reach those goals.
Shannon is originally from upstate New York and has lived in North Carolina since 2010. Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, traveling and exercising.
