Caila Zenner

Caila (pronounced Kay-luh) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with a strong foundation in child development and education. Before joining the Horizon team, she worked as a preschool and elementary school teacher and served as an enrichment specialist at a local non-profit organization. Her passion for recognizing and supporting mental health needs in various settings prompted her to complete her master’s degree in counseling at North Carolina Central University.

Caila enjoys working with individuals from childhood to adulthood, recognizing that each stage of life comes with its own unique experiences and opportunities for growth. With a deep commitment to inclusivity and diversity, Caila creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where each client’s unique experiences, identities, and values are honored and respected. She sees therapy as a collaborative process—working alongside clients to develop personalized strategies that are meaningful and effective for their individual needs. Her counseling approach combines various evidence-based techniques to provide holistic and individualized care.

Central to Caila’s work is the belief that self-compassion is key to healing and growth. By fostering a kinder, more understanding relationship with oneself, clients can strengthen the resilience they already possess to overcome challenges and make meaningful progress.
