Hal is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) with a DBT STEPS-A certification, specializing in working with teens, young adults, adults, families, and especially members of the LGBTQ+ community. As a queer and trans therapist, he provides a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals and families, offering support for stress, life transitions, anxiety and panic disorders, depression, suicidal ideation and self-injury, mood dysregulation, and ADHD.
With a deep understanding of the challenges of navigating intersecting identities in today’s society, Hal believes in the power of community and found family. His therapeutic approach is a blend of empathy, collaboration, authenticity, and honesty, utilizing various modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic and holistic approaches to cater to each client’s unique needs and experiences.
Hal views therapy as a collaborative process, aiming to empower clients with the support and courage to identify and implement necessary changes in their lives. Through a trauma-informed and neuroaffirmative lens, he is committed to helping clients achieve their goals and build a supportive community.
