Jillian Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with 2 years of experience serving children and families. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the College at Southeastern, and her Masters of Education in school counseling from North Carolina State University. She is also a school counselor at a charter school in Wake County where she supports students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges to succeed in the educational setting through the use of individual and group interventions. Jillian is extremely passionate about helping young people recognize and celebrate their unique strengths and abilities, and seeks to help them achieve their full potential.
Jillian loves to help young people develop coping strategies and work on positive mindsets that will help them become confident adults with healthy relationships to themselves and others! She believes that therapy should be collaborative and empathetic. Jillian uses a variety of different modalities including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy to meet her clients’ needs. Jillian has provided services to children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, and children who have experienced trauma. She has also helped children navigate peer and family conflict, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, and emotional regulation. Jillian’s goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment that encourages open and honest conversations.
