Kiersten Traylor is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Salisbury University and her Master of Science in Counselor Education from The University of Virginia. Kiersten is also a school counselor in Wake County where she supports students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges to succeed in the educational setting. She earned 2021-2022 WCPSS School Counselor of the Year and 2022 North Carolina School Counselor of the Year. Kiersten enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families. Kiersten’s counseling style is strengths-based, person-centered, and solution-focused. Her goal is to provide a nurturing and empathetic environment to build therapeutic relationships and help clients feel safe to discover their potential.

She enjoys using play therapy techniques in sessions. Kiersten recognizes the importance of the family system and may incorporate family members into a client’s treatment. Kiersten has provided counseling services to children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and children who have experienced trauma. She has also helped children navigate peer and family conflict, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, and emotional regulation. In her free time, Kiersten enjoys spending time with her family and two golden retrievers.
