Kim was born in North Carolina, but has also lived in New York and Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo. During that time she completed an internship in the campus preschool, which is where she learned that she loves working with children and adolescents. After spending several years as a high school teacher and coach, she decided to switch gears and become a professional counselor. Kim received her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Phoenix, and is now a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate in the state of North Carolina. She has experience with both individual and group therapy, and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and women of all ages.
Kim believes in a person-centered, solution focused, approach to therapy and has experience with clients who would like help with anxiety, depression, trauma, AD/HD, future planning, mindfulness, and interpersonal dynamics. She also has experience with families involved in adopting and fostering children. Kim has an eight year old daughter, a ten year old son, and a mini goldendoodle named Sammie. She loves adventure and enjoys going on road trips and camping with her family and friends.
