Graduate Student Internship Program

Qualifications

  • Enrolled graduate students who are completing requirements for a master’s level degree in mental health, counseling, or closely related fields of study, and are seeking state licensure (LCMHC, LCSW, or LMFT),

  • Demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  •  Candidates must be able to see clients within Horizons operating hours (Monday-Sunday 8am-8pm).

What to Expect

Hands-on clinical experience in a mental healthcare private practice setting utilizing a range of unique modalities, i.e., play therapy and expressive art therapies.

  • Short- and long-term counseling opportunities

  • Work with diverse populations

  • Weekly supervision provided by a fully licensed mental health provision.

  • Weekly group supervision and case consultation provided by a fully licensed mental health provision.

  • Maintain a caseload of clients.

  • Documentation training

  • Practice implementing and integrating various therapeutic approaches

Commitment

  • Orientation and training prior to official internship start date.

  • 10-15 hours per week, depending on student’s practicum and internship hours needed to complete.

  • Attend mandatory weekly group supervisions.
