Mary is a Certified Health Coach who is, and has studied all the major dietary theories to guide you in discovering which approach works best for you!

Health coaches are being recognized as an essential part of people’s health and well-being. There is a huge demand for health coaches, not only are doctors looking to hire more health coaches, but patients are learning that working with a health coach is one of the most effective ways to improve their health.

A coach offers guidance and inspiration to help clients shift their behaviors to healthier habits by making step-by-step changes to their diet and lifestyle. The client learns about healthy foods, concepts of relationships, physical activity, careers to develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyles choices that work best for them, while learning to implement lasting changes that improve their energy, balance, and health. Health coaches focus on teaching clients to become self-sufficient by teaching them to observe their own unique responses to various modifications in food and choosing health-promoting behaviors.

A health coach is a wellness professional who motivates, educates, and assists clients in choosing behavioral and lifestyle choices that optimize their overall well-being. The goal (s) of Horizon’s health coaching program is to assist clients experience the fulfillment, satisfaction, and pride that comes from changing their lives by concentrating on their health needs and goals to live and sustain a healthy lifestyle through nutrition wellness in a personalized manner.

Health coaching is at the forefront of wellness trends, and is a rapidly growing field with no signs of slowing down, particularly in the face of current health crisis. The average patient visits a doctor with a visit lasting approximately seven minutes, just enough time to say a quick hello goodbye, with a quick diagnosis along with a drug prescription to cover up the condition. Meanwhile, 70% of all health care expenses can be assigned to preventable diseases, to offset these unnecessary costs people are turning to health coaches.

People are recognizing the need for more counseling and guidance with their wellness decisions-especially with food and nutrition. Therefore, people are turning to health coaches for a tailor made exercise plan, food/nutrition plan, and guidance based on the science behind healthy eating.

Horizon incorporates a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that we look at how all areas of your life style are intertwined. Does stress at home, your work, or your relationships cause you to feel unmotivated or dissatisfied that you tend to overeat? Does lack of sleep or fatigue disable you from fitness? As you work with a Horizon Health Coach together you will explore the many parts of your life that impact your mind and body to promote overall wellness.

At Horizon, you will receive a personalized program. This program will assist you in improving your health and overall happiness. Together with your coach, you will explore issues specific to you and your body, and find the tools and support you need to work towards achieving balance in your life.

 

As a Horizon client in the health coaching program, you will:

– Work together to set realistic and feasible goals in a way that is rewarding and empowering

– Work to achieve your desired weight

– Increase your energy levels and decrease stress

– Feel terrific in your body

– Learn more about nutrition and foods and how you can easily incorporate them

– Enhance your personal relationships

– Uncover the confidence you have within you to create and take charge of the life you want

 

Horizon’s Health Coach Program

Basic Program 6 Months

  1. Two 50 minute session each month for 6 months
  2. A variety of handouts, recipes, book suggestions, foods, and other materials
  3. Email support between sessions
  4. Monthly special events: * healthy food store tour, sample foods/juices, workshops

*Grocery tours subject to additional pricing.

Intake: $250

Weekly: $150
