Heather Mathis

 

Heather Mathis,MSW, LCSWA is a therapist at Horizon Integrated Wellness Group. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Salisbury University and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in children and families from Delaware State University. Heather has extensive experience working with children and families within the foster care system as well as the school system. In addition, she has experience working in private practice with children, teens, and adults. She uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a Person-Centered approach with her clients.

Heather believes relationships are imperative to effecting change, and she works diligently to
build rapport with her clients. She is a staunch advocate for her clients and strives to meet them where they are emotionally. Outside of her professional life, Heather is the mother to two sons who are 20 and 22. Her oldest has level 3 autism, and together they advocate for others on the spectrum. Heather also enjoys reading, hiking, and being near water.
